CaL’Isidre opened its doors in 1970 as a Catalan-Mediterranean market cuisine restaurant where the seasonal product was the star.
For more than 50 years, every morning, its founder Isidre Gironés has gone to the Boquería market in search of the best products of each season to elaborate exquisite recipes of traditional Catalan cuisine.
The good work of Isidre and his wife Montserrat, has made Ca L’Isidre a benchmark in Barcelona, earning the loyalty of an audience with an excellent taste for good gastronomy.
Currently, her daughter Núria is responsible for creating the recipes together with the kitchen team andthe Chef.
From a very young age, Núria combines Hotel Management studies with cooking and pastry work in her parents’ restaurant.
The love for the stoves transmitted by her grandmother Angela and theadmiration of her father for French cuisine lead her to continue her training in France and Switzerland where she visits some of the best kitchens in Europe at the time. Subsequently, he takes pastry courses in France. After this stage, she rejoins Ca L’Isidre.
Her concern for the world of wine, inherited from her father, leads her to study for sommelier, and joins the team of the restaurant room to take care of customers and select wines.
In 2017, Núria assumes the management of Ca L’Isidre and gives the restaurant a breath of fresh air respecting its identity. In this new stage, she has the collaboration of a great team of professionals.
With the chef Jordi Juan, she works to prepare the dishes, a mix of traditional Catalan-Mediterranean cuisine, with modern touches, based on the best seasonal products and proximity.
José Millán is the one who leads the room attending to the customers with the dedication inherited from Isidre. We have an extensive cellar of more than 400 references of classic wines and artisans from around the world.
